It is the castle, built on the ancient remains of a Roman castrum guarding the Via Augusta, the area of the ancient parish church of Sant’ Andrea, built in 1454 after the devastation caused by the plague, the area of the 17th-century Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie and the convent of the Dominican Fathers, that connect the ‘Borgo più antico’, located in a fortified area, to the ‘Borgo Nuovo’ built during the Renaissance.

From the magnificently preserved castle of Cordovado, it is possible to admire the external area made up of the moat, the masonry access bridges, the two characteristic towers and the surrounding walls that, even today, enclose splendid historical residences dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
The Piccolomini-Freschi palace stands out among them: dating back to the end of the 16th century, it was built on the medieval remains according to the classic Venetian architectural scheme with a central passing hall.
The palace is surrounded by a beautiful 19th-century park that can be visited during the ‘Open Castles’ event.
Also within the village is the Agricola Palace and the small, recently restored medieval church, which houses a fresco attributed to the school of Giotto.
